Our aim is to make a guitar player out of you (or your kid) the first chance we get. If you already play, our talented instructors might still be able show you some new tricks. More on lessons. (Local folks only.)

Free Set-up

We'll make sure your new acoustic guitar sounds great and plays great, with easy action and no fret buzzes. If you're just starting out, you don't need a guitar that picks fights with you. If you're an old hand, you know exactly what we mean, and we'll set up the action to your specifications.

Free 30-day check-up

Wood expands and contracts with temperature and humidity, so an acoustic guitar may go through some changes as it settles into its new home. Bring it back in a month and we'll make sure it's still in optimum shape. (Local folks only.)

What about those really cheap guitars at the big box stores?

We don't carry guitars like FirstAct, Esteban, Hannah Montana, for one simple reason. We only sell playable musical instruments. After Christmas we get quite a few of these boxed guitars for "repair," which we think is silly-- What kind of instrument needs repair right out of the box? Sometimes we can wrangle them into playable instruments. Sometimes not. It's a toss up.

Even the better brands like the Squier Electric Guitar Packs don't necessarily come out of the box as playable instruments. They may have buzzing frets, high, hard-to-play action, or bad intonation. Companies like Squier make quality instruments though, so we can address all those problems before they go out the door (that's part of the free set-up). We don't think you should have to pay extra to make your a brand-new guitar playable.

In short, at a big box store, you get just that, a guitar in a box. At Piccolo's you get a real instrument.
